Sqworl

Sqworl is a free visual learning tool for teachers and students.  According to the Sqworl website, it is most popular with grades K-6.   Sqworl provides a space to provide visual icons and links for user use.  Educators can use it to create and manage their own lesson plans, share ideas with peers, or post information for students.  One feature allows for homework uploads, and would allow (if the learning provider posts) access to many materials sources.  An example of this could be the ability to listen to and practice spelling words, and then submit the spelling practice.
One beneficial piece for students and teachers, is the ability to explore other learning games and tools, recommended by other teachers.  It reminds me of Pinterest, but is narrowly focused on education and learning, not a huge host of topics.

This tool is certainly visually appealing and has the ability to limit content for students focused on their learning objectives.   For parents and students in K-6, it certainly could be a great resource if used to it’s full advantage.   I think it would appealing to older learners, but may need some adaptations.   I’m a little unclear on how students and/or parents might communicate with the teacher, outside of homework uploads, or creating their own browsing pages.  All posts are visual, as it appears limited in text communication.  It may be a feature, but not one I found upon initial exploration.   Overall, it looks like an appealing way to show/share weblinks in an easy to use format.
