Summary
Kahoot is a multiple choice game/discussion/survey tool that is best used for whole group interaction. Once the leader has selected or created the Kahoot, participants sign in using a game pin. Once all participants have logged in with either a smartphone, ipad, or computer, the leader may begin the activity. As the leader creating the Kahoot you can write the questions, the multiple-choice answers, and select the time allowed to answer each question. Though it doesn’t work the higher levels of critical thinking, it is still useful for building foundational knowledge. After each question a leader board is posted and students are notified on their own devices, of their ranking, and how many points required to overtake the next person on the list. My students love the competitive nature of the game, and I enjoy the immediate feedback as well as their desire to do more math problems. As for my classroom, this tool is a winner!
