Quia - Communication Tool Evaluation

Summary

Quia is a multi-faceted communication tool that allows the teacher to create online activities, assessments with automatic grading, and includes detailed reports.  Like Google Forms, Quia can be used to create online surveys with multiple reporting formats and all the resources can be organized on a class Web page within the site.  Different activity styles allow for differentiation for students needs and to add variety to your assessment tools.  The teacher can assign quizzes that are pre-made or create their own.  I feel Quia could be used as a major curriculum piece if you don’t already use a personal Web page, reporting system, or if you want to incorporate more online assessment tools.  Because of all the functions available, Quia could take time to learn but there are many user-friendly tutorial slideshows that make it easy.  Many communication tools available on one site is also a plus.
