Communication Tool #6
Google Hangouts – Students, teachers and
families can “hangout” using this tool. Students and teachers can use this for
collaboration projects, tutoring, asking questions in a “face to face” virtual
meeting on their iPads or laptops from the comfort of home. Students can do
projects such as collaborating for a presentation or studying for an assessment
together. Teachers can easily collaborate as well for team teaching activities,
professional development or co-teaching activities such as report cards from
home in their jammies. Some people prefer Google Hangouts over Skype.
Sometimes, Skype can have availability issues and Google Handouts don’t. You
can also access Google Drive while you’re using Google Hangouts, which makes
any collaboration project for students or teachers easy as pie.
