Quizlet is free and geared towards educators by educators. The target audience is any learner from K to post Graduate. Quizlet has over 40 million "study sets" that enable teachers and students to access.
Quizlet makes memorization of material "fun". Students can record their own voices with Quizlet's audio recording capability. There are opportunities for "multiplayer" exercises where students/teachers can quiz and compete against each other to learn new material.
I can see Quizlet being used by a teacher to create some really engaging study material with their students/class. Progress on the outcomes of quizzes is tracked by the program which is a plus for the teacher. Files are allowed to be uploaded to enhance the quizzes. Quizlet is "free" with an option to "upgrade" for a year.
