GoToMeeting is a communication tool that might night meet the needs for an entire class, but I found it to be extremely effective for a Special Education teacher like myself that is remotely tutoring a student at an off campus location.
For example: I have used this with a student that has recurring health problems and is unable to attend school on a regular basis. GoToMeeting allows for the Teacher/Student to interact quite seamlessly. A good way to describe GTM is to think of a "live Khan Academy lesson" happening in real time between the teacher and student.
The teacher could use this to deliver a live lesson to the remote student. The student is able to ask questions either by live audio or by a chat function. The teacher is able to give visual examples in real time. There is no archiving function at this time.
