Bubbl.us is an excellent tool for brainstorming and "mind mapping" particularly when a teacher and/or students are focusing on one general "idea". Remember the days when the teacher would stand at the chalkboard and start drawing "bubbles" and connecting them to the central idea in the middle of the chalkboard? Bubbl.us takes this brainstorming strategy and adapts it to the 21st century.
Students and teachers can collaboratively work on an idea and share thoughts, images, files, url's and connect them to the central "idea" or topic. The teacher can act as "ringleader" or "chief" in a live real time setting or students and teachers can go in and out of Bubbl.us as they please to add to the "idea" as they see fit.
I can definitely see some great classroom uses for this where the goal is for the group to work collaboratively on an idea.
