Edmoto

Features: Edmoto is a platform that combines the social networking of Facebook with online classroom features like Google Classroom.  Apps can be purchased to be assigned to groups of students, making this a one stop platform for teachers who use several different apps.  It seems to be easy to use once you figure out all it has to offer.  There are features for connecting with other educators both to interact and learn from as well as to collaborate with class to class.

Classroom Use:  My target group is K-2, so with that in mind there are fewer uses for this platform that there would be for upper elementary.  Students would need to be able to log in and follow assignments, submitting them online.  I could see using it with second graders as an introduction to online collaboration, and I believe it would be very motivating for them.  K & 1 could use it as a class to interact and collaborate with other students and classes, and to get feedback from parents, much like a blog.

Rating: Edmoto earned a score of 26 / 30, making it somewhat useful for my target group, but not the best choice for their needs.  Again, if I were thinking of an upper elementary group, it would be higher.
