What a total surprise Shadow Puppet was to me! This is a slide show app
incorporating music & narration. Students can create these videos
using photos from their camera roll (no in use camera) or videos. They
may choose from images within the app from photo collections such as:
NASA, Library of Congress, Met Museum of Art, satellite images and so
much more! Text can be added with features like fade in & out, spin,
zoom and students can adjust the font, color, size, alignment and so
on. Music can be added from the iTunes Library or Background music
already included in the app. Narration can be added with or without
background music. The site includes guides, activity ideas, storyboard
worksheets, image search sources, digital storytelling packet info and
more. Students can document their learning, tell stories, report on
field trips, describe experiment findings, create how to videos, etc.
and teachers can create flipped classroom videos. Students can share
through: Seesaw, FaceBook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, email, etc. This
app can only be accessed from an iOS device, This is a great tool that
truly spans all age groups and ability levels. I rated this tool 33 out
of 36.
