Bookopolis

Communication Tool #2 - Bookopolis

Bookopolis is a free tool that teachers can use to get their students excited about Reading in grades 2 through 8! Students can make their own avatar, choose books to add to their virtual book shelf, write & read peer reviews, earn points & badges, even become pen pals with an author! This site makes Reading social and fun! Students create their online Reading logs and teachers can monitor their work through a Teacher Dashboard. Also, this tool is aligned with the Common Core State Standards for Reading and Writing. I rated this communication tool 33 out of 36 mostly because it is most appropriate for grades 2-8.
