Tool #8:  Kahoot

Features:  Kahoot is a game-based learning platform.  This tool is used with learners gathered around a common screen.  The game consists of multiple choice questions that can be created by the teacher around any concept.  These questions are displayed on a main screen for all students to see.  All students participate and answer each question.  

Use:  Kahoot can be used to monitor a student’s knowledge and understanding of any concept.  It also requires all students to answer so you can monitor the growth of everyone.  Teachers can identify areas where students are struggling.  I am excited to use Kahoot in place of paper language practice.  I envision the multiple choice questions being about language concepts such as spelling, capitalization, punctuation, etc.  This will be a great practice for skills, as well as help me determine areas that need further instruction.
