Tool: Twitter

Features: 140 character maximum communication. Can be shared read by a global audience or if desired a select audience. Ability to retweet, like a tweet, direct message from a tweet and comment on a tweet. Can have a twitter chat where many people are communicating at once. Use hashtags to connect tweets and ideas of common themes.

Classroom Use: Twitter can be used in the classroom to follow educational blogs. Students can use it to respond to a posted question and not be pressured into a long response.
