In reviewing Gmail, it ranked very high in all aspects. This email tool is a great communication tool with the one downfall of response. The response time is dependent on when the recipients receive their email. The other thing to note is ads will appear in a regular Gmail account, but Google for Education, which the majority of schools use, does not include ads.
Gmail is very helpful in the classroom to send messages, assignments, announcements, etc. to students. Again, it is dependent on students reading their emails. It is also helpful to communicate with parents, stakeholders, sales reps, etc. With providing Gmail accounts to students, it provides an opportunity for a wide variety of tools for students including Drive, Photos, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc. Also the opportunity to always have a way to communicate with teachers. Besides attaching files, videos, photos, there are the tools to meet the needs by sharing!
